Shapes

Ages 6-8Beginner

Shapes are all around us! A shape is the form or outline of an object. Some shapes are flat (2D) and some are solid (3D).

Common 2D shapes:

  • •Circle — round, like a wheel or the Sun
  • •Square — 4 equal sides, like a tile
  • •Triangle — 3 sides, like a slice of pizza
  • •Rectangle — 4 sides, 2 long and 2 short, like a door
  • •Pentagon — 5 sides, like a house shape
